The seventh piece we have cut from those eleven Biella rolls, and the last one that the remaining cloth will allow. When these forty are gone the pattern goes in the drawer.
That is the honest condition of working with deadstock: you get a beautiful cloth at a fraction of its cost and its carbon, and you get it exactly once. Shops that reorder it get an email instead.
Four buttons, a hand-finished welt at the hem, and a back cut from the same cloth rather than lining - because there was, just, enough.
